Mirror and a Camera Body


I've haven't yet gotten around to building a telescope around my grandfather's mirror (it's going to be a chalange with a focal length of 9 feet) . However, I have used it to take a picture of the moon.

I did this by propping the mirror against a rock and setting up my camera at the focal plane of the reflected image of the moon as shown here:

The exposure time was 1/30th of a second on 200 ASA film. It always amazes me how a big obstruction such as a camera seems to have no effect on the projected image.
